ACCC wants your data but they can’t guarantee its protection

How can we trust the ACCC with our personal data when this happens:

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has said that users that had signed up to its alert services had their emails exposed publicly on the regulator’s website.

It wasn’t too long ago that the ACCC was actively lobbying for mandatory data retention. However it’s clear from this mishap that we should question their ability to keep our private affairs private.
